Story description

Every evening, the Little Girl watches the stars light up in the sky — first the West Star, then the South and North Stars, and finally her favorite, the tiny East Star. But what if one day the East Star doesn’t appear? Well, you take a ladder, jars of honey and jam, and head straight for the sky! Because when a friend is feeling poorly, you must visit them — even if that friend lives among the stars.

A gentle, magical story about friendship, care, and the fact that true friends will always come to the rescue. Perfect for bedtime reading with children aged 2 to 4.

The Girl and the Stairway to the Stars (book excerpt)

Amelia lived in a small house in the heart of a dense forest, and more than anything in the world, she loved to watch the stars in the evenings.

They always lit up in a specific order. First, the West Star would appear—she was the one who saw the sun off. Then came the South and North Stars, followed by many others. And finally, the last one to glow was the tiny East Star.

Of all the stars, Amelia looked forward to her the most.

“I wonder, does she like honey or raspberries more?” Amelia thought every evening. “If only I could meet her! I’m sure we would be the best of friends!”

One evening, as usual, Amelia brushed her teeth, fluffed her pillow, and sat down to watch the stars before bed. First, the West Star lit up, then the South and North, and many other stars. But the little East Star did not appear.

“Something has happened!” Amelia decided. “Maybe she fell and got lost in the forest?”
