George had always looked forward to winter with special excitement. When the snow wrapped everything around, hiding yards, roofs, and cars under snow-white caps, time seemed to slow its pace. George especially loved that moment when a snowflake, falling onto his palm, wouldn't melt but lay there like a fluffy star, as if deciding whether to stay or fly further away.
But this year, something incredible happened with the snow: one frosty evening, George suddenly saw that the snow, which was supposed to fall down, was slowly rising upward, straight toward the streetlights, swirling in the air and defying all the laws of physics. George couldn't look away: it was strange, yet beautiful in its own way.
