The Boy and the Power of Africa (book excerpt)

Since childhood, Julian had loved animals. He looked at them in books, watched nature documentaries, and dreamed of seeing them one day in real life—not through glass, not in pictures, and not on a screen. So when his family traveled to Africa, Julian was very happy. His parents knew about his dream and chose a safari tour.

Early in the morning, the family was already driving in an open vehicle along a wide road. Tall grass grew all around, trees with wide crowns could be seen in the distance, and the air was filled with unfamiliar smells and sounds. The sun rose higher and higher, and the landscape slowly began to change.

“Mom, is Africa the same everywhere?” Julian asked. “Or is it different?”

His mother smiled and replied:

“Africa is very diverse. There are hot sandy deserts where there is almost no water, and camels live there. There are savannas—wide open lands with grass and scattered trees. There you can see lions, giraffes, zebras, and antelopes. And there are also dense jungles where it often rains, tall trees grow, and monkeys and birds live. Every place is a special home for animals, and each of them has learned to live there in its own way.”

Hello, friend! Let’s play a little game.

Find all the animals in the picture and tell who you met.

The Boy and the Power of Africa

The idea itself is amazing to make a child the hero of a fairy tale, especially with their imagination! Interesting plot, great quality. Thank you for such a wonderful book! Making a child the hero of a story is real magic! We ordered the book just over a week ago, and my son has already memorized it because he asks to read it several times a day. The quality is also excellent!
