Катя лежала в саду и скучала. Был ясный солнечный день. Воздух дрожал над травой, и казалось, будто сама скука прилегла рядом под кустом..
«Чем же можно заняться в такую жару?» — думала Катя и зевала.
Вдруг откуда ни возьмись появился Белый Кролик с красными глазами. В этом, разумеется, не было ничего необыкновенного. Но когда Кролик достал из жилетного кармана часы, взглянул на них и пробормотал: «Совсем опаздываю!» — Катя так и подскочила!
Сгорая от любопытства, она со всех ног помчалась вдогонку и успела заметить, как Белый Кролик скрылся в большой норе под старым деревом. В ту же секунду Катя, не раздумывая, прыгнула за ним следом и провалилась в нору.
