Андрей был обычным мальчиком с необычной мечтой. Его комната была завалена комиксами, в которых могучие герои в плащах побеждали целые армии злодеев, останавливали падающие самолёты и выносили из огня целые дома. Он знал всех их по именам и мог часами рассказывать об их суперсиле. Сам же Андрей не умел летать, не видел насквозь и не обладал стальными мускулами. Он просто ходил в школу, делал уроки и каждое утро выгуливал своего верного пса — весёлого двортерьера по кличке Пират. И от этой обычности его любящее, смелое сердце иногда сжималось от тоски.
— Мам, а я когда-нибудь смогу стать героем? — как-то спросил он. — Конечно, сынок! — улыбнулась мама. — Героем может стать каждый. Для этого не нужны суперспособности, нужно просто иметь очень доброе и храброе сердце. Но Андрей это казалось слишком простым и совсем не героическим.
